they closed the magic shop today.

i always liked magic shops.
i remember them.

if souls existed, they'd only reside in magic shops.

years ago, i went to a magic shop in chicago.
i was with a girl.
i showed her my cards and she showed me her tricks.

i still can't disappear.

Very odd but somehow moving. The non-capitalized 'i's annoy me, but other than that, pretty good. Like the last line but the rest puzzles me.

I would hurl words into this darkness and wait for an echo, and if an echo sounded, no matter how faintly, I would send other words to tell, to march, to fight, to create a sense of hunger for life that gnaws in us all. ~Richard Wright
The poem seems to have an air of sadness. Very enjoyable. Good work.
O yes ... magic is about disappearing. well done.
